Another round of Premier League predictions is available for us as the season gets underway.

Plenty of fun and drama awaits. We have some titanic clashes coming up both up and down the table. So will there be more exciting goal affairs or any interesting Premier League predictions?

To answer this, we turned to former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson on SportsKeeda and ex-Chelsea striker Chris Sutton on BBC, as well as tips from Liverpool icon Mark Lawrenson on Paddy Power, for some Premier League predictions.

🗓️ Friday, October 14Brentford vs BrightonPundits predictionsChris Sutton: 1-2

“It is hard to know exactly what to expect from Brighton so soon after Roberto di Zerbi has taken charge, but they always pose a threat – and I think they will edge this one.”

Paul Merson: 1-2

“Brentford were well beat by Arsenal and Newcastle. They failed to score against Bournemouth, who barely ever keep a clean sheet. Brentford are dangerously close to the relegation zone at the moment, and I’m backing Brighton to win this game.”

Mark Lawrenson: 2-1

“Brentford got smashed last week and Brighton lost to Tottenham, it’s interesting at Brighton at the moment with their new manager. Does he stick or twist with how they play? Brentford normally bounce back from a defeat and I’m just not sure what to expect from Brighton at the moment.”

🗓️ Saturday, October 15Leicester City vs Crystal PalacePundits predictionsChris Sutton: 2-2

“I feel like Crystal Palace will cause Leicester problems, but likewise the Foxes can hurt them. With that in mind, I’m going for a draw.”

Paul Merson: 2-2

“This game’s a hard one to call, and I can’t see anything but goals this weekend.”

Mark Lawrenson: 1-1

“Leicester took the lead and lost to Bournemouth last week while Palace beat Leeds which was a good result for them. You thought Leicester would kick on after beating Nottingham Forest 4-0 but things are just not good there at the moment.”

Wolves vs Nottingham ForestPundits predictionsChris Sutton: 2-0

“I look at Wolves as a team who are not fulfilling their potential. That’s not really the case with Nottingham Forest, who I thought were fortunate to get something out of their game with Aston Villa on Monday. Forest’s new signings haven’t clicked and they are a team who are probably starting to doubt themselves a little bit.”

Paul Merson: 3-1

“Nottingham Forest are starting to show a little bit of what they’re capable of. I still think they’re going to get it right with Steve Cooper – the new contract nips speculation in the bud. Wolves have been a better team going forward, however, and should be able to win this game.”

Mark Lawrenson: 1-0

“Julen Lopetegui’s turned Wolves down for personal reasons so they’ll still be scurrying about looking for a new manager. It’s back to the drawing board and they’ve lost three in a row now. Diego Costa’s getting fitter and better and I don’t know if Nottingham Forest will be able to handle him.”

Fulham vs BournemouthPundits predictionsChris Sutton: 2-1

“I always write Bournemouth off, and they always prove me wrong. I know their fans love it too… so you know where I am going with this one. The Cherries have done great under Gary O’Neil, but I think Fulham will feel hard done by, and they will come out with a point to prove.”

Paul Merson: 2-1

“A lot depends on whether Aleksandar Mitrovic is fit – I can’t tell you who’s going to win without that information. But I do think Mitrovic will play, so I’m backing Fulham to win this Premier League game.”

Mark Lawrenson: 2-1

“Gary O’Neil’s still in charge at Bournemouth and doing well. I think this will be a good game as both are doing well, better than I thought they would. Because of home adva ronaldo long sleeve jersey ntage, I’ll go with Fulham to win – just.”

Tottenham vs EvertonPundits predictionsChris Sutton: 3-1

“How comfortable [a win] this is for Tottenham just depends on when they score their first goal.”

Paul Merson: 2-1

“Tottenham have stepped up this month and should be able to win this Premier League game.”

Mark Lawrenson: 2-0

“Everton are going well which has been a bit of a surprise for all of us, they’ve been really solid. Spurs had a good win in the Champions League during the week and Son Heung-min’s back among the goals. They’re a bit hit-and-miss but I’m pretty sure they’ll beat Everton.”

“I’m very temp ronaldo shirt 5t ted to go with a draw but things are going West Ham’s way at the moment – certainly more than they are going Southampton’s. I really like Gianluca Scamacca up front, and the Hammers seem to be finding a way to win games.”

Paul Merson: 1-2

“This is a big match for Southampton – the home fans will want a win. I like the manager, but you’re going to hear a lot of things coming out about his job now. Southampton are a bit stuck at the moment.”

Mark Lawrenson: 1-2

“You get the feeling that somebody at Southampton is waiting to press the button and it’s not the manager. He’s having to defend himself after every game which is never good. West Ham won last time out and looked a lot like their old selves.”

🗓️ Sunday, October 16Manchester United vs Newcastle UnitedPundits predictionsChris Sutton: 1-1

“I don’t think Manchester United will win this. The only question is, will Newcastle take three points home, or just one? It’s not that I don’t feel Manchester United are making progress under Erik ten Hag, because they are.But I fancy Newcastle because they have been taking the game to their opposition, and the goals have started to flow – they have scored nine in their past two matches.”

Paul Merson: 1-2

“I’m going to go for a shock this weekend. Newcastle have the players in their team to hurt Manchester United. They’ve got the game to beat United, but they’ll need to pick the right pass. If they stick to Eddie Howe’s plan and execute it like they have been over the last couple of weeks, I think they’ll win.”

Mark Lawrenson: 2-0

“Newcastle come here on the back of a couple of very good wins. Manchester United will rotate a lot during the week so they’ll be fresh. Newcastle are a different kettle of fish this season, especially on the road, and they’ve got some good defensive players but I fancy a home win here.”

Leeds United vs ArsenalPundits predictionsChris Sutton: 1-3

“I’m expecting Arsenal to win because man utd ronaldo shirt sales they are absolutely buzzing at the moment. “I’d be shocked if Arsenal don’t win this weekend, and I haven’t had that feeling in several years. Leeds will jump out of the blocks at a hundred miles an hour, but Arsenal will eventually take over and rip them to shreds.”

Mark Lawrenson: 1-2

Aston Villa vs ChelseaPundits predictionsChris Sutton: 0-2

“Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is scoring goals and Graham Potter is showing how adaptable he is as a manager. Villa will be under pressure to win at home, and I can see the nerves getting the better of their player ronaldo red jersey s.”

Paul Merson: 1-3

“Chelsea were wasteful last week and could’ve beaten Wolves by any scor no 7 ronaldo shirt e if they’d taken their chances. Aston Villa will make it hard this week, but Chelsea will have too much for them.”

“I watched Aston Villa’s last two matches and, for all the control they had, they created very few opportunities. They’re not sure whether to go with one or two up front and when teams just set up to stop them that’s what happens, they stop them. It’s going well for Graham Potter at Chelsea, they’ve got a great squad and they all look like they want to impress him.”

Liverpool vs Manchester CityPundits predictionsChris Sutton: 1-4

“Liverpool might create opportunities, because of the way City are set up, but when you look at both teams, City are just too good. Pep Guardiola’s side scored four at Anfield in February 2021, and I think they will match that.”

Paul Merson: 1-3

“Do I see Liverpool winning? No. They’re still letting in too many goals. Manchester City have got Haaland and will still win a lot of games this season. I don’t see how Liverpool are going to stop them from scoring at least two goals this weekend.”

Mark Lawrenson: 1-1

“Liverpool were a little bit unlucky against Arsenal and they’re still conceding lots of goals. I think City will be happy to take a point here, regardless of how well they’re playing, and move on to next week.”
